Silly Season, international break edition: Joe Hart, Cesc Fàbregas, Mattia De Sciglio

It’s only been a couple days since the start of the October international break and the associated drought of proper football, news, and action. But Silly Season never sleeps, and with all else slumbering, here comes the deluge of nonsense once again.

As has been en vogue since Antonio Conte took over in the summer, the rumors all concern Italy in some way, shape, or form.

And even when Conte just goes back home to hang out with family and maybe take in a local football match, the rumors are not far behind.

The beautiful part of this from Goal.com is that no less than 28 players took part in the match. We’re sitting on a gold mine of transfer rumors!

Speculation has centered around on-loan Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart (LOL) and the two center forwards, Fiorentina’s Nikola Kalinic and Torino’s Andrea Belotti.

The 22-year Belotti has actually been in impressive form for Torino, having scored a hat-trick against Bologna in his second game of the season and earning his first cap with the Italian national team as a result. Meanwhile Kalinic is not only much older (28) but has also been much worse, with just a singular strike in six appearances so far this season.

If all that’s not enough to make you give yourself a hearty facepalm, here are rumor-slop merchants CalcioMercatoWeb (via ESPN) with a swill of a swap concerning Fàbregas and De Sciglio.

With Chelsea locked into the 3-4-3 now and forever, the former has no business in the squad, while the latter is tailor made for it. Or some such.

Wake us when mid-October ends.
